About Us

The Mission

Our business is based on a simple philosophy: let's be more sustainable. We think it's important to make sure that our business doesn't have a negative impact on the Earth. And by making our business green, we're also helping to make your business green.

Are you ready for your business to have a green online presence? Do you have questions about other ways to make your business greener? Contact us!

We love being in control of our own power, and it's yet another reason to love a sunny day! We're hoping to install a wind turbine soon, and our blog holds more of our thoughts on running a business on renewable energy.

The People

Hi, we're Aaron Parkening and Eileen Webb, the founders of webmeadow.

Back in the early part of the 21st century, we spent many an 80-hour week making websites and talking to databases for the likes of Amazon.com, the Internet Archive, and quite a few Wall Street firms. We decided to take a break, and eventually spent 3 years running a wholesale bakery. Here is a tip: if your goal is to have a less strenous life than in Silicon Valley, do not agree to make a 3-tier vegan wedding cake and 75 hand-rolled croissants on the same day. FYI.

In time, we came to miss the websites and the databases (that's not weird... right?). So here we are, making funny jokes about MySQL and CSS (sitting in a tree... ha!). Well, they're funny to us, at least.

The Ducks

We're located in northern New Hampshire, in a lovely rural area frequented by moose and porcupines, and we have a flock of ducks. They are great fun, and only a little crazy. They lay eggs every morning, then wander around during the day, eating bugs and taking naps.

We also keep chickens, and are hoping to get some pigs. You can read more about our various animals in the Livestock section of the blog.

  • Name a Duck

An important perk of being a webmeadow client is that every website comes with naming rights to one (1) duckling*. That's right -- you get a website, and you get to name a duckling and read about her exploits on our blog.

You could name a duck after your company, or your brother, or your favorite fictional character! Almost any name goes; past names have included Esmerelda (pictured above), Boot, Elephant, and Cayuga Joe.

Contact us to get started on your project and the duck naming process!
