About Us

The Mission

Our business is based on a simple philosophy: let's be more sustainable.

It's important that our business doesn't have a negative impact on the Earth.   With that in mind, we compost, re-use and recycle everything possible, we pay a living wage and use solar power, and we aspire to be as efficient as possible.

In fact, we believe that by making our business green, we help our clients' businesses become green.

Our Power!

The People

Hi, we're Aaron Parkening and Eileen Webb, the founders of webmeadow.

We became web super-stars by making websites and talking to databases for the likes of Amazon.com, the Internet Archive, and quite a few Wall Street firms. We felt a bit cramped in the city, so we moved to northern New Hampshire and started a small farm where we could raise animals and plants of all types (including kiwis!).

When we're not making funny jokes about MySQL and CSS (sitting in a tree... ha!), you can find us out hiking, kayaking, snow shoeing, and cross-country skiing, though probably not all at once.

We're located in northern New Hampshire, in a lovely rural area frequented by moose and porcupines, and we have flocks of ducks, geese, chickens, and other rotating livestock for good measure.  They are great fun, and only a little crazy.  They lay eggs every morning (though not so much the pigs), then wander around during the day, eating bugs and taking naps.

You can read more about our various animals in the Livestock section of the blog.   Next up, permaculture landscaping!

Rave Review:

When we first started our farm, we started writing a blog about our experiences.  It was a way to keep in touch with friends and family, and a way for us to make a record about what we were doing as much for ourselves as anyone else.  Then when we started the CSA, we used it to communicate with CSAers, then to communicate with prospective CSAers, then also share recipes, connect with other customers, and more.   We were really asking the blog to do too many things, and we weren’t doing any of them well.

webmeadow was able to tease out the different things we wanted from our website – recipe sharing, communication with our CSAers, easy access to information for new customers, and a way to keep our chatty and sortof personal blog.  They redesigned the website to do all these better and easier than before.  In fact, we got two new CSAers within days of having the new...
